PDF to URL
Upload a PDF and get a URL for a browser-based reading page. Share the link by email, on a website, or as a QR code—then manage access and see how the document is read.
A PDF is a file format; a URL is an address. This tool hosts your document behind a reading page and gives you an address to share. It does not rewrite the PDF as HTML.

How to convert a PDF to a URL
The document needs a place to live online before it can have a shareable address. Here, publishing creates a reading page; you copy that page's URL when the upload completes.
- 01
Select your PDF
Choose the PDF you want readers to open. The upload panel checks the file type and your current size limit before continuing.
- 02
Verify and publish
If you are new, confirm your email and choose a password. Once the upload finishes, PDF to Link creates a reading page for the document.
- 03
Copy its URL
Use the link shown in the result, or download its QR code. Open the URL in another browser to check the reader before sharing it broadly.
- 04
Adjust the experience
From your dashboard, add a document password, logo, social links, or a call-to-action. Review reading analytics after people visit.
The first upload may ask for email verification. After publication, the result stays on this page and includes the URL, a copy control, a QR code, and a route to manage the document.
Preview the URL's reading experience
A reading-page link opens the same document on different screens. Use this public PDF demo to check page turning, zoom, and the mobile layout before publishing your own file.

Choose the right kind of PDF URL
| What you need | Best fit | What the link opens |
|---|---|---|
| A branded document experience with reading analytics | A PDF to Link reading page | A web reader showing your PDF |
| A raw file address ending in .pdf | Your website's file storage or media library | The PDF file itself |
| Team file sharing and collaboration | A cloud-drive sharing link | The drive provider's file viewer |
These addresses solve related but different jobs. A public web reader is useful for reports, catalogs, brochures, or manuals when the presentation and reader behavior matter. A direct file URL is useful when software expects the binary PDF. A drive link is useful for collaboration, subject to that provider's access settings.
If you share through a drive, check its permissions before posting the link. Google's official sharing guide explains the difference between restricted access and anyone-with-the-link access.
Share with the right access
After you create the URL, you can add a password to its published document settings. Readers will need that password before the PDF opens. Share the password separately when the document is sensitive.
You can also add a logo, social profile links, and a call-to-action to the reading page. These settings customize the page around the PDF; they do not alter the PDF file. The dashboard reports reading sessions, page reach, focused viewing time, and recorded exit pages after real visitors open the link.
A URL can be copied into an email, placed behind descriptive text on a website, or encoded in a QR code for print. The destination is the same reading page in each case. If you later change its access settings, test the existing link again as someone without your account. A password prompt is useful only when the intended readers know how to obtain the password.
When another system asks specifically for a PDF file URL, give it a direct file address from storage you control. A reading-page URL may not work as an input to a PDF parser, download automation, or CMS file field, even though it opens correctly for a person in a browser.
Before sending the URL
- Open the link yourself in a private browser window.
- Check that the correct PDF and first page appear.
- Test the password prompt if you enabled protection.
- Try the QR code on a phone before printing it.
- Review analytics later; no visits means no reader data yet.
PDF to URL questions
Does PDF to URL turn the file into HTML?
No. The result is a URL for a reading page that displays your PDF in the browser. It is not an HTML conversion or an editable web page.
Can I get a direct URL ending in .pdf?
This tool publishes a managed reading-page URL. If you specifically need a raw .pdf address for a website's media library, host the file there instead.
Can readers open the URL on a phone?
Yes. The reader adapts to desktop, tablet, and phone widths. Try the same document in the preview below.
Is the URL private?
Anyone with a published link may be able to open its reading page unless you add a document password. Do not treat an unprotected link as a private file.
Can I use the link in email or social posts?
Yes. Paste the reading-page URL wherever a clickable link is accepted. You can also use the generated QR code for print.
